The backstrap would have been walking around 3 hours prior.

I WANT to make the same food I did for the last 11 kickoff because it was so good.

However, my superstitious self simply cannot do it

The nightmare continues at 6pm on the plains for us. Going to be a cold night in the upper 30s in central SE Texas. Fireplace is getting lit and a big pot of venison chili with smoked brisket is the plan. No tomatoes. No beans. Will have Fritos, cornbread, noodles, and guacamole as accoutrements.

A great snack/ app that’s simple is pork belly burnt ends. When we have parties I put a pickle on top and run a tooth pick through. A fancy alternative to little smokes . Pickle helps cut through the fat.

I think we are.. it was so damn good and relatively quick for such an early start. I keep saying in my head that what we eat cannot affect the outcome, but my heart will not let it go!! Lol.

And to tie in with another thread here, for this I do slow scrambled, fluffy eggs. Pretty much anything else is over easy, no crispy edges!
