Looking for recs for an anniversary dinner in the Shreveport/Bossier area. We've been to Superior Steakhouse, The Village, Mabry House, and Ernest but looking for somewhere we haven't tried yet. Had someone recommend The Vintage and considering going there.

Village is old school, but good.

Bella Fresca on Line is also a good spot.

What happened? Every time I went, it appeared he had a large crowd and this was on weeknights (business trips for me but has been over a year since I have been to Shreveport).

I thought he did Italian very well.

I've always had great meals at 2Johns in Bossier.

The chef retired and didn't want anyone else to cook, so they ended it.

Village is the best for anniversaries. Small, cozy atmosphere.

L'Italiano is still the best for price, ambiance and food. It's in Bossier just across the river.

Another vote for Bella Fresca since you have been to Villiage, Mabry and Ernests before.

Others mentioned (L'Italiano, Chianti, Wine Country, 2 John's) are all good too.

I don't usually do casinos, but a few weeks ago we took an anniversary trip to Binion's Steakhouse at Horseshoe.

It was pretty damned good. Escargot with a fantastic sauce had us using the bread basket full of a variety of breads to sop it up. Crab appetizer had a ridiculous amount of lump crabmeat. Steak and salmon were both great, and some kind of chocolate torte dessert almost did us in. It was so enormous we actually brought some of it home and snacked on it for two days.

The bill was also enormous, but we had some booze on there that jacked it up.

I hear The Vintage at ElDorado casino is also good. I'm willing to try it based on the Binion experience.

L'Italiano is great...food and atmosphere. Haven't been in a while, but the owner used to sing opera if requested. Plus, you can write/draw on the wall.
I took my wife there after we got engaged, so it's got a special place in my heart.

We go there for lunch every week or two. The construction in that area right now is insane.

The street out front is gone. You have to come in the back way. I've been trying to go often despite that, because it must be hurting their business.

It's going to be really nice in that stretch when they finish, but it looks like a Syrian battlefield right now.
