So, I forgot that our anniversary is tomorrow. Wife texted me and says, did you get reservations? My response: For when and why? lol

So anyways, not quite in the doghouse yet, b/c she forgot as well... Looking for a place for tomorrow night or a list of places to call and see if I can get a reservation. We did Fat Calf last year and have done 2 Johns a few times so those are off the table. What else?

I don't know where you should go. But a couple years ago we stopped in that shithole town on our way to the panhandle quail hunting. I can't remember who steered us here but we ended up at a real fancy place in an old gas station. White table cloths, $40 marinated crab claws, insanely overpriced food/wine served with a heaping helping of unfounded pretentiousness. Don't go there.

Good answer. Food and service are great, and women love the old house atmosphere.

Lucky Palace is another option if you’re willing to drive out to LA Downs. I haven’t tried it since they moved.

I’m not overly familiar with Shreveport, thank God as the last time there I thought I was in Jackson, MS, but is it some big deal to the other half or special year? Why not just kick back with a bucket of beer, margaritas, and fajitas and relax at Superior?

Don’t want Mexican, they’ve got to have a place you can pound a bunch of BBQ or catfish and hush puppies, right?

Lived in Shreveport from 2002-2010. Loved this spot. Wife and I went here after we got engaged in 2006.
Glad to here it’s still a good spot.

Marilynn’s was pretty good about 7 years ago but the last two times we’ve been there it’s been kinda nasty and the freaking flies will carry you off, you can’t hardly take a bite without swatting flies off your food and definitely no white table cloths.
