Air Fryer Users - I need advice

I got one for fathers day (2019). Basket is 9" x 8 3/4' x 4" deep.
Any advice on whether this thing is worth trying? What, if anything, does it do better than normal kitchen appliances? Does it excel at cooking anything?
Thanks!

It's essentially a convection oven.

Get a convection oven instead

Makes things easier, usually when I get home from my work out I throw 2-3 chicken breast in it and set for 15-20 minutes. By the time I get out of the shower it is time to eat. Really easy to clean as well.

Father’s Day last year or this year?

It is hands down the only way to re heat leftovers... and if you're in a spot to cook frozen food, its faster than and oven and exponentially better than the micro.
I didnt want one, but my grown daughter brought it here while she's in grad school and I think I will get my own when she moves out.
We do have the "non basket" style, with a regular fold down over door, and I like that better than the basket deal.... fwiw

i use it to reheat a ton of different things
i also use it to cook any frozen foods that the kids normally eat, chicken fingers, pizza rolls, etc.
for cooking, i do bacon, chicken wings, brussel sprouts and other veggies
i've even done a pork loin in it and it was damned good with a crispy exterior
ive also done a can of biscuits or cinnamon rolls in it just to not have to wait for the oven to preheat....this works well, but you have to cook on a lower temp than you normally would

I use it to cook tater tots or fries without all the mess of oil. They come out better and faster than using the oven IMO

How are wings in it?

I’ve roasted broccoli, cauliflower and artichokes in mine before, in addition to frozen kids foods. It’s nice when you don’t want to heat the oven up.

Amazing, that is the only thing I have cooked in mine and they are some of the best wings I have had. I simply dust the wings with lemon pepper while preheating it at 350. Spray pam in the basket. Put the wings in for 25 minutes at 350 then 5 minutes at 400, shaking the basket a few times during cooking. They come out perfect every time.

Here are some I dusted in flour and air fried. I also do them naked for buffalo wings that are excellent.

I have the Ninja Foodi and it is amazing for re heating food versus being soggy in a microwave.
Kids Tater tots and fries are faster and crispier than the oven.
I have done wings also and they are amazing (the Foodi is actually a pressure cooker as well so there is that feature to tenderize them prior to the air crisp)
clean up is easy non stick
I have done a full chicken pressure then air crisp as well.
only down side is the size is relatively small for cooking for the whole family.
I use it much more for reheating and cooking frozen foods for the kids rather than preheating the oven. Fries in the Foodi are done before the oven would have even preheated

Peel and cut golden potatoes into fries. Olive oil, kosher salt, fresh cracked black pepper, grated Parmesan. A little truffle salt good too.
Chicken Parmesan (panko breaded) is good too. Plenty of recipes online. Spiral cut some zucchini into noodles, crisp on hot skillet with a little olive oil, salt and pepper.
Shrimp were so so. Sweet potato fries were a fail. Seems like I did beef or turkey patties that came out fine.
