Funny that no one likes it now when a few years ago there would be several threads a day about when it would be released, what stores had it, etc.

the worst thing Abita ever did was start making more of it

that killed the demand/hype

If you look at the people that were starting those threads/posting in them, it's pretty much the same people that still like it now.

I was thinking that yesterday. I remember there used to be threads all the time about it. But to be fair, it wasn't the FBD people.

I took a sip of it the other day (my friend was drinking it), and OP is right that it was extremely sugary. I thought maybe my tastes just changed because I drink a lot of bitter beer now, but looks like I'm not alone in finding it really sugary.

I used to like it before I was 21 and before I cared much about beer. I liked it because it wasn't overly sweet like Covington Strawberry was. Guess they're both sweet now.

The one I had this year was bad. Not sure why i even try any of them other than Purple Haze. Also not sure why they can't make any of the fruit stuff worth a darn other than purple haze.

Geeez what is this world coming to. Grown arse men whining about the consistency of fruit flavored beer. Grow a pair, drink a bud and STFU.

If this is true for any food or drink, it simply means it's not that good. I'm anti hype. It has no impact on taste for me.

Smaller batch anything tends to be better with food and drink.

They (Post Cereal, Abita, Leinenkugel) probably all use the same fake strawberry 'flavoring'.
