Stone makes the best IPA. Ruination is the best IPA I have ever had. And I've had many. Is it available in Louisiana?

Not all heart surgeons or rich people are cool people or people I'd like to be around but the majority of craft beer fans are people I like to hang around. Their not snobs about it though.

Jockamo is terrible. I cant imagine this will be any better

. I'm all for being a homer, but Grande Reserve is average at best
You're entitled to your opinion, but I know many people with well-traveled beer palates who think very highly of Grand Reserve. I certainly think it is an exceptional beer.

Yes it is. I brought some back from NOLA this past weekend. A lot, actually. You should try Green Flash West Coast IPA, if you like Stone. I cannot decide which is better.
I'm sure I will try this new Abita, but my expectations will be low... not just because of Jockamo, but everything else of theirs I've had too. I hope I'm wrong.

I've had green flash, anderson valley hop ottin, port wipeout, karl strauss, sculpin, lagunitas, alesmith, and many more. Ruination is just the best imo. There is actually some backlash starting against Stone in California. Like they've gotten too big or something. I stopped at a liquor store on PCH last week and there were no Stone beers and a sign that said step out of the stone age. I got a karl strauss IPA and it was good but I will not be going back to that store. I still think Stone is the best. Did you get the ruination or the regular IPA?

Louisiana really needs to get some good breweries
The beerbuddha guy just sent out an email talking about how fast the La craft beer scene is growing.
He said there are 7 breweries on the way.
I only knew of 2, so this is great news to hear about.

I can think of 2 LA breweries' beer that I prefer over anything from Texas right now. Quantity does not always equal quality.
Oh really?
Lakewood
512
Revolver
Deep Ellum
Have you sampled offerings from the above brewers?
I've had all of the La beers mentioned here. While some are quite good, they aren't on par with what's coming out of Texas.

Well there you go. Try more NOLA and and Parish and then get back me. The Canebrake is better than any session beer from TX and the Grand Reserve is as good or better than any big beer from TX IMO. NOLA's stout and hopitoulas are both great and also as good as any beer from TX (and I've had almost everything from the JK to Karbach to St. Arnold to Rahr, you name it).
ETA: I dont care for anything from TinRoof, Bayou Teche, or most of Abita's lineup. Not bashing them, but you cant list these average to below-average breweries as the best LA has to offer.
This makes more sense. I never hear much about Nola or Parish, so I haven't tried much from them. Does Parish bottle their stuff? If so, where can I get it?
JK, St. Arnold, and Rahr aren't all that great, and far from the best that TX has to offer. JK is especially overrated and overpriced. Thirsty Planet, 512, Live Oak, Adelberts, and Circle are much more consistent and have better selection of brews. Hell, even Real Ale has some great brews.

Both Regular & Ruination. I think they're both great. Have drank them side by side with Green Flash, and just can't decide which one I like better. I guess I'll keep trying.
I assumed you were in Louisiana, that's why I recommended Green Flash. Obviously you've tried more west coast style IPA's than me.
