I agree with the winners and placement, except for Ambrosia.. They don't have the best king cake.
Not sure what the problem is with their filling technique, but I've had several of theirs and most of the filling has run out of them and you're left with nothing but dry-arse cake.

I go to Rave because they have the digital projectors that Cinemark doesn't.

Same here

And as much as people complain about the 225 list, it's not really a horrible list of restaurants

A few of the winners really really don't belong there though

I had Ambrosia's once because a professor brought it to class. I thought it was good, but not nearly as good as the ones I've had in the New Orleans area. And Gambino's kingcakes are awful (or at least the ones from the Metairie location are)!! I'm shocked they placed 2nd on the list.

But the point is if they had a 337 magazine that was like this then you'd have Wendy's on the list of best burgers

This list isn't really representative of the best Baton Rouge has to offer

Thought you would have picked up on that by now. I guess you're stupid.

Sorry I didn't read that part just the restaurants. With that said Lafayette still dominates Baton Rouge in so many categories.

It's bad alright, but I guess my issue is with the selections....

WTF is the deal with the love for freaking FIVE GUYS? Best Hamburger in town? REALLY??? And Best new restaurant, beating out Beausoleil. HOLY village idiot BATMAN....

And I really don't know what to say about Waffle House making it to #3 on the best late night joints. I realize that there aren't many to choose from, but did we really need to have a category in the first place where Waffle House is mentioned in the best BR has to offer in food according to this 225 thingy?

At least perhaps you would get a much better representation of quality food available. I say that because I'm pretty sure most who post here are more of a foodie than those who voted on 225.

No doubt

BR has plenty of good food. That list only touches the surface of the few actual good places that landed on there.

Bay Leaf should have been the #1 in their category if the voters knew anything about Asian food.

No shite. How is Bay Leaf not even mentioned in the running? Hell, where is Maison Lacour and Brandts Maisonette. For that matter, where is La Creole?

First thing I think we should do is clarify the categories we're going to cover, and then maybe nominate three for each category, and then vote. Heck, maybe the TD powers that be can post it on the front page to pimp it.

Why? I've been Sunday-Thursday and it's been fine. I haven't been on the weekends, but from my experience there isn't a theatre in BR that is "nice" to go to on the weekned.

Well I can tell you exactly MY reason why. Perkins Rowe's theater is not digital projection. It still uses film strips. The screen is smaller then Rave's AND you have the little popping things on the screen from the film strips. There's no reason a theater with IMAX, 3D, and DIGITAL screens shouldn't win. Period.

And this is coming from someone who owns a 10-15 year old TV with no desire to ever get HD/flat screen.
