I’d rather go to Guy’s.

Some of these are the same baws who get pissed if you don’t like Sonic so I always take it with a grain of salt. But, 100% agree A.

I tend to agree, but every experience I’ve had at Mandina’s has been pretty poor.

I’ve always enjoyed Mandina’s.

I have had bad experiences at a lot of excellent restaurants, including the oft-praised Galatoire's. You can't put our a few hundred meals a day with a few screwups

BUT, can you think of a more absolute certainty on the F&DB than the ripping of popular restaurants as soon as someone posts a positive review?

100% correct. Contrarianism keeps some people going. They gotta be more in the know than 90% of the population.

I’m extremely aware that this proves your point completely, but putting Mandinas in with that crowd doesn’t fit. Place was, is, always shite. Mandinas is hot garbage.

I’ve been to Mandina’s more than a few times, and it’s always been a bad experience. I’m not one to shite on what’s popular; Mandina’s hasn’t been good for me.

What did you get there? Last time I was there I got the veal with spaghetti and it was good. Not great, but good.

It's been a long time. The ones I remember were crab fingers, fried seafood, and veal parm.

I have not been to Mandina's in a long time, maybe 7 years. I started going in the early 60's and it was mostly fried seafood and poboys, I never order Italian food in any restaurant (I'm Italian, I an do better). I stick to seafood and poboys, great onion rings too, they have always excelled at those things.

I really never go to NO anymore, the last 2 trips I witnessed overt criminal acts, the violence there is past the tipping point and no one seems to care.

Parkway is bland. Incredibly bland. They should open up a poboy shop in Philly like those CheeseSteak folks do down here.

I don’t get the love for the place, outside of maybe nostalgia.

About a month ago......

Had a couple of friends in town this past weekend and tried to go but their was a line out to the sidewalk. Sorry, but I don't wait in a line that long for anything. Ended up at BBB where Lakeview Harbor used to be.

I'm with you on that. I don't wait in lines for food in N.O. since there's so many other places to go to that are just as good, if not better.

Waiting in long lines is for tourists who don't know better.

Try the RB at Chap’s Chicken in Lakeview. Tastes just like Meme’s (the pre-katrina grocery at Robert E Lee and Canal).
