How long will it be for Bourre to open after Boucherie moves?

I think the same time frame so probably next week. Boucherie already has some of the wings on the menu.

I feel like I expected there to be more of a raw bar/crudo presence on the menu? Perhaps that is something that will show up in house. Looking at that menu, there's oysters, a tartare, and scallops. I'll still give the place a shot as I'm a fan of LPG, but I'm a little surprised.

ETA I think I just expected something a little more like the upstairs of Baru, the Crudo area. I really enjoyed that. I need to make my way back over there.

I heard Shaya is going to make a run at it for opening before MG, but they found some plumbing issues that sounded pretty serious.

You sound like you are from BR

A third of the menu will be made at the "garde manger" station located at the end of the bar. "I've been trying to get away form calling it a raw bar. It's not," he said. "You'll have some of that, but there's also cold vegetables, country pâté.

Gracias!

It has a bit of a Luke feel but geared towards small plates.

They are doing more pastas then I anticipated. That sure is a rough neigbhorhood to crack with so many good places. I hope he does well, but it's not going to be easy.

I said that was my expectation and that I was surprised by the menu, NOT that I was disappointed. And notice I said I'm still going to give the place a shot, not that I was going to pass judgment on the place unfairly.

Didn't you sort of tease us recently, saying something along the lines of (and maybe I'm paraphrasing) expect this to fill a niche that N.O. doesn't have and to be unlike any other place in town?

I don't mean this as knocking the menu and I really like what he does at La Petite, so I'm sure this place is going to be really good, I'm just not, however, seeing anything there along the lines of what I thought you were saying. It really looks like it could be the menu at 20 other places in town.

Care to clarify what you were referencing earlier and what on here, if anything, speaks to that? I'm not trying to be an arse, I'm genuinely curious.

Yes Herbsaint is a block away, but after that, there's a decent sized hole of maybe 4-5 blocks before you get anything

Think you're forgetting a few spots and 4-5 blocks isn't very far.

Herb, Carmo, Capdeville, Peche, Emerils, Marcello's, La Casita, Desi Vega, Tomas Bistro, Tivoli & Lee, Tommy's, cibugnu.

That's all within a few blocks. Obviously a few are slightly more casual, Casita, Carmo, but that's a crowded neighborhood.
