Bruning's was in Bucktown. The Jefferson Parish line extends across the 17th Street Canal at that point. Most of Bruning's parking lot was in Orleans, but the street to get to the door and the restaurant were in Jefferson.

Absolutely, but growing up the lakefront and Metry were really similar to me. Also, just wanted to give that spot some love....
Stuffed DOOR MAT flounder is a classic of long gone days.

We could probably adapt this tourney to a Best Jazzfest food item in a month too.

So true. Soft Shell Poor Boy from the galley with hot sauce only would be in my final four.

there are going to have to be some tough decisions made by the selection committee

A much tougher job than the NCAA Selection Committee, with a lot more at stake.

Thanks, I wonder if a steak place will even make the NO selection. If it does my nominee would have to be MR John's followed closely by Dickie Brennans. I love Ruth's, but no chains allowed.

I love a good cowboy ribeye. However, I think those places will have an uphill battle to make the tournament, given their geography.

They definately have to win a conference tourney to be included. I forgot La Boca, maybe that would be the nominee. We have a very difficult road to travel.

I like Mr Johns too.. But I threw Little Village into BR's nomination because it can stand up to Mr Johns on steak and still has italian food side.

So does Mr John's. In fact the chef is from Italy.
