What’s the rough value of this bottle? I don’t know crap about champagne, it’s been in my cabinet for 11 years

I used to smoke pot with Don Perignon back in 1998. It was Don Perignon and Sloan Kettering. And they were blazing that shite up every day.

How it was stored will probably depend on the current quality of the juice.

Well it’s a vintage year so probably about $400 or so. But it’s made to drink so I would find an occasion as you are getting a bit long with it.
I’m sure it will be damn good so get some oysters or some smoked salmon deviled eggs or whatever and enjoy. I can always find an occasion for champagne. Tuesday is an occasion.

Dom Pérignon is always a vintage champagne.

Well there you go.
One thing it is not is rare. They create the illusion but millions of bottle are made. I always thought it was over priced. I like some Crémant which is more reasonable price wise. But I’ll drink any of them.

It's not about rarity. It's about the labor that goes into producing the bottles (bottles are hand turned in the cellar during fermentation) as well as only producing in good years. They do not release a vintage every year. We are currently on 2009 after being on 2006.
That's just "champagne" that can't legally be called champagne because of where it's made.
As for OP, that bottle won't be worth that much more than a 2009 at the store. Probably $250ish.

I have a 1980 bottle in the cellar... not sure when to break it out.

If you throw in 20 hooters wings, I’ll give you $200

I’m aware what Crémant is. And only a very few of the bottles are hand turned. Most are done by machine. 5 million bottles average Dom Pérignon per vintage.

Cool find, but the natural enemy of wine is temperature, vibration, and sunlight.
You seem to have 2 of the 3 accounted for.
Household temps at 70 degrees are not enough for ageing wines, and detract heavily from their residual value.
Bring this bottle to a sommelier for your best evaluation.
