Well, last time we were in there, we won enough to pay for our entire trip -- gas, food, B&B plus had $600 left over. So I ain't complaining about it.

I was told today that levee south of vidalus and in tensas Parrish around yucitan area has weak spots, however corr is working on those spots as we speak doing what they can to strengthen them
Also I drove from new roads to vidalus up levée and water is high already, just curious to what degree it will help north of say orcc and morganza spillway if indeed they open morg ? Anyone know?
How much pressure would it take off theses weak spots in concordia and tensas Parrish?

I think Natchez will be ok..... BUT Vidalia La. is really looking like it might get hit bad. It's expected to be a Record Flood. People need to take it seriously......

I'm in BR right now, but the people back home are taking it very seriously. Very little storage space left in Natchez, people already heading into Mississippi, everyone's Facebook is about the flood, etc. We're hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. (well, at least I am and most of my friends families)

They must have briefly taken it down to update it or something

Governor's office, COE, and EBR officials had a meeting today to discuss the possibility of evacuating certain parts of Baton Rouge around May 17th. The levees by LSU is a major worry. There are serious concerns about the stress level this part of the levee system south of downtown can withstand. The COE may make the 49.5 for BR mark official tomorrow. They are still running models.

Why don't they open the Spillway?

I am at work with an old timer that said if they ever open it up they will never be able to close it. Said it will then flood out Morgan City.

The Bonne Carre spillway doesn't flow into Morgan City.
I'm not talking about Morganza.

The spillway will start being opened tomorrow.

Only reduces the rate of the rise in BR.

There's no doubt they'll open the BC
Morganza is more political and there are some concerns.

So this would mean areas like Beau Pre and Lake Beau Pre would be in trouble? (River Road and Brightside)

Are y'all sure I'll be able to make it to Houma Friday if they open the BC spillway? It's mighty low around those parts.

Wouldn't this be good? Give them more time to prepare and less stress on the levee?
