Was in Pierre Part this past weekend and the neighbor marked off on my GF's moms house where the water will be. We are going back to sandbag around the utility room on ground level and hope for the best.

looks like the water is about a foot higher in the first pic. I am still amazed at how many people don't even know this is going on. And to think LA's two largest cities would be under water right now if these levees weren't there.

It's a lot higher now. Ted(who took the pics) is a friend, I'll see if he can send me some current.
I just talked with a captain friend going upbound w/ a load@ Vicksburg. Air draft @ the bridge is reading 52' he has less than 1' clearence getting under the bridge. He is all cinched up.LOL!

You've got to think each one of those steps is about a foot hight .... so 6 feet away from the top.

Dang. I cannot believe how fast it's rising. The Ouachita is getting high too when I passed through Columbia going to ULM today. It has rose a good bit since I came through Saturday

alligators are enough of a problem....at least now there are enough that they are regarded as a nuisance and you can kill them....i hate to see any louisiana black bears killed because of this, but we'll probably lose some...
