Never draft a starting Broncos running back

Dont draft great players on bad offenses early (rarely works out)

Seeing what happened with Gurley this is a pretty good take away.

Don't draft a great WR with a terrible QB. DHop and A-Rob come to mind first.

Don't draft players early that are coming off major season ending surgeries or multiple(Jamaal!!).

I think my biggest take away is to not sit so long on perceived depth. There was a point mid-season where my team was the deepest of any in the league. 5-6 starting running backs with well defined roles or roles that just opened up due to injuries in front of them. I also had 2 top 5 TEs and a fairly deep WR core. I traded off one of my RBs to upgrade my QB position, but that was the only trade I made. What ended up happening is most of these startable players fell off and they weren't perceived as assets any longer. It's the classic case of sell high, especially when you have good depth, but no real superstars.

Yep, I kinda did reverse in 2nd round + got laughed at for drafting a "TIER 2" wide receiver Jordy Nelson.

Never underestimate the lowest seeded team in the playoffs.

I'm a 7 seed and in the 'ship. I'm actually laughing at it because I should never have made the playoffs to begin with.

Load up at RB
Grab a top TE in first 3 rounds
Do not draft a WR unless they have an established QB
Stop drafting defenses altogether and stream matchups

Don't trust injured players late in the season especially ones that were hurt early on. Then again it didn't cost me any playoff games yet

I would say that turned out pretty good for you, especially this week

Get luckier with scheduling

Most points against in two leagues. The positive regression DID happen the second half of the year...unfortunately it wasn't enough for one of the leagues.

But really I would say avoid Thursday games unless the guy is an undisputed stud. If I'm deciding between two guys and one plays Thursday....other guy easily. Hope the NFL does away with these games.

The trick is predicting what QBs will be terrible. Bortles wasn't terrible last year, and ARob had an awesome year.

There was some writing on the wall pointing to Gurley, Hopkins, Arob/Borltes regression though

So one lesson I say would be trust what you know. Gurley plays on a shite team with a shite O, we know this. Brock Osweiler was the most garbage QB last year, especially throwing downfield. We knew this. Arob and Bortles accumulated a ton of their stats in garbage time - we knew this

Idk if mock drafts are to blame, or just the players' talent is intoxicating (all are great individual players)

In the same breath, people zimm'd on guys like Zeke and DJ. We knew Zeke was a stud, behind a stud OL. DJ was a stud last year w no comp in a good O - we knew this. Too much push back when all we needed was a little logic

So I'd say do your homework, don't even look at a mock draft etc. come up with your own conclusions

Draft Dallas starting running back.

And Don't fall in love with your drafted players.

Probably not playing in anymore leagues that have individual defense players. Too much of a crapshoot vs other positions. Or maybe i'm just bitter at the moment. Lost in playoffs by 16 pts, the exact difference between my D player and his.

This is my biggest take away. You can't trust anything about them.

Agree with everything except this. Denver's defense has been phenomenal for me for the most part, started them every week except this week. Got Atlanta's defense against San Fran. I think having that stable roster spot where you don't have to worry about waiver priorities and people snagging the defense you want is a big advantage.

I learned that RB's still matter.

Its good to have a stud RB is you can get one IMO.

The position was decimated in 2015 and "zero RB" was trendy but I still want a great RB1 if I can get one on every team.
