I drafted both of those guys in those years, as well as Fitz this year, about 10 spots ahead of where they were on the website's default autodraft list. Sometimes you have to use common sense here.

Same thing with LeGarrette Blount and Isaiah Crowell. I took them early when other people were drafting crapshoot backups like Derrick Henry and Tim Hightower. Their platoon became a great RB2 and your season doesn't get fricked when Adrian Peterson goes down.

Other lessons learned:

1. Draft Ks with an eye on December. Indoor kickers + shitty QBs = points. You wanna know why I'm in the championship game? Nick Novak. I'm not even kidding. He got me 25 (@Indy) and 19 (home Jax) in my playoff games. I drafted him on purpose in my final round as my (mandatory in this league) K2 and I didn't even start him regularly until Thanksgiving.

2. DRAFT CRAPPY RBs WHO CATCH A shite-TON OF PASSES and then DON'T BE FREAKING AFRAID TO START THEM. Lesson learned. Duke Johnson <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Carlos Hyde. But if Carlos Hyde is playing a team that you know is going to skull-frick the 49ers (like the Falcons), Duke Johnson is not a risky play. It almost cost me a spot in the championship.

3. Recognize your biases and avoid them. Spencer Ware was LSU's 4th-best RB and he couldn't even make the Seahawks. I ain't drafting that guy. I didn't learn that lesson back then with Domanick Davis (and a brief Keiland Williams stretch) and I didn't learn that lesson this year either.

4. It's okay to take a rookie RB off the board as the 3rd RB taken and 11th overall pick. Something I'll never regret.

5. It's okay to be a homer, but only if your homer team is the Saints. I don't pick a lot of Saints ever because they always go too high in local leagues, and I don't want to be "that guy." But this year I said "screw it" and took Brees and Cooks because it made sense. They single-handedly turned my other semis into a blowout, and they turned about 2-3 of my other games into blowouts. They only had two shitty combined games, and I only lost one of them.

6. It's okay to draft players you hate and players from teams you hate. Dak Prescott is my QB right now in one championship (and I did absolutely draft him--dynasty league), and Ezekiel Elliott is my RB1 in the other. And I don't care.
