I wonder if we can set two waiver wires and make a minimum bid 0.00. If we do that, we can set the wire to run every day during the week and you can add players that way. There would be no UFA pick ups but you would have the option to make a claim that doesn't effect your budget. We would run it all the way to Sunday 11:00 AM and then shut it down until Wednesday.

How would that work?
It would still be the first person to claim the player after he was dropped, right?
So, the fastest fingers still get the player?

Let's just play out this season as is, and we can switch sites next season

That's how any UFA claim works. The difference is you could bid on a guy dropped. You wouldn't have to bid zero for them.

I honestly think that would be the best way to do it...maybe I didn't explain it good enough?
ETA I am fine with leaving it the way that it is. It wasn't a problem last year or the year before.
As for what MWG said regarding this being the premier league or whatever, RT made that happen. Would not have been able to expand and do 24 teams with two player pools and do top 6 bottom 6 on another site. I'll take that over losing out on a scrub that was dropped to get another player.

The issue at hand is the process in which the guys coming off waivers are claimed; there either has to be a rolling waiver or FAAB for fairness purposes. Guys who aren't claimed can be subjected to the "who clicks fastest" process
That's exactly what I am saying too - I agree with you. It needs to be a waiver or FAAB to give everyone a fair chance to pick someone up. The point I was making (or trying to make) is that another reason why a free for all exactly 48 hours later sucks is because not every owner can get to a computer at that specific time. It currently isn't a fair or competitive process if some teams don't have a shot at a free agent simply because they have no way of being on the league site at 3:32pm on a Thursday when the player they want happens to come available at that specific time.

Thanks, none of that has been discussed over the last 3 years.

My suggestion, kind of what Toula was getting at the other day, would allow you to bid on someone every day. You could choose to bid zero if you want, but you wouldn't have to. It would take all of the "he got here first" stuff out. The tie breaker has always been the person who places the claim first gets it if the bid is the same, so it would make people reconsider doing the 0.00 bid, but everyone would have a fair shot, every day.

how many guys are you actually starting that was dropped out of a rosterable player pool of 180 players
you never know. Esp early in the year, a lot of people drop guys prematurely that could start for some other teams.
or later in the year, i think we've all been there, when injuries pile up & next thing you know Bear Pascoe is in your flex position. Consider we now have 2 flex positions. Some of these players can and will be important to teams

No meeting is too important for me to log onto RTSports on my phone and claim a player.

I think we could do your idea, make unprotected F/As available the next day instead of 2 days, and if someone wants to make the claim, it needs to be in by 8:00 PM that evening. Even though we can't actually add the player until the following day, we can announce who won the player so nobody picks them up before we could add them to the winner's roster.
Actually, that seems pretty easy to do.

ya, i think it would be pretty easy.
configure an email address for each conference where people can send bids in. The email would have bid amount & player wanted to drop.
The email address for my conference would be ran by someone in your conference, and vice versa. shite, you could even give it to 2-3 people just for over sight purposes.
