I'll update the OP with all league details and start the conference selection process with SFP.
We need to discuss the regular season length due to bye weeks. I'm down with having a 13 weak season with the overall league championship in W17. This means the 1st round byes for the T2 teams will be even more important with 4 teams on a bye during W14 in the new league scheduling format.
If we extend the regular season to 14 weeks, then you run into the issue with players sitting out in W18 on teams who have their seed locked up.

I believe last year there were byes in week 13, which was the first round. Just how it’s going to have to work.
And if we are choosing between missing players because of bye weeks vs missing because seeds are locked up, I think it’s clear to take the bye week ordeal. Much easier to plan for, as we know those players will be out. Much more annoying when one of your studs “will play” but you have no idea if that means one series, one quarter, or the whole game.

I know it's radical but we could consider r1=13-14, r2=14-15, r3=15+16, r4=16+17. Rd 1 could also be only week 13.
In another copy league last year, it was r1=13, r2=13-14, r3=15+16 (weeks 13-16). So the extra week this year let's us split out r1+2 by running weeks 13-17.

Likely the most agreeable is what Dally said.
- 13 week regular season
- week 14 NFL byes hit the top3-6 playoff teams for each conference, just deal with it
- top1-2 playoff teams are immune to NFL byes since they earned league bye week
If over concerned with the week 13/14 NFL byes for playoff teams, then best imo was proposed earlier:
- 12 week regular season
- top3-6 playoff teams cumulative w13+w14 (spans both NFL bye weeks for playoffs)
- top1-2 conference get a 2 week bye
- week 15 goes back to top/bot with 4 teams
- week 16 is conf championships
- week 17 is superbowl
- this might be my preferred, but seems a hassle for Alum/Dallas to manage

Would also like to add that the week 14 nfl bye weeks in a playoff system where round 1 is week 14 make earning a top 2 seed (for the 1st round playoff bye) even more valuable, which I think is a good thing. But I’m fine with whatever we decide.

plus we run an auction. you get to build your team and have full control on what byes your players have. it's a bigger concern in a snake draft league
