I don’t disagree B but what if I can trade one for a player that I couldn’t afford at that point in the draft?

Even if it’s a $15 guy, it could be worth it for me and I don’t think that is all far fetched.

I won’t hold 3 QBs all season like SFP did a few years ago. If I recall his final record was really bad

B QBs actually trade pretty good in this league. There’s always guys who get stuck w shitty $1 QBs who then realize steady QB play is paramount in this format

You think you can ride jameis Winston and by week6 you are 2-4 and it’s too late

I couldnt trade Andrew Luck to save my life last season and all I wanted was a back end wr2/wr3 type.

Everyone made their moves for a Q already

Marginal increase in production ain’t worth it especially when you need 6 skill guys

eh you can include them in a package but pretty rare anyone is ever going to do a straight up QB for RB or WR deal.

I'll drop one within the first 4 weeks to add another RB or WR.

These are the QBs I started last year and went 11-1 and made the championship game with:

Mariota x3
Keenum
Flacco x4
Bortles x2
Prescott
Lamar x4
Allen

I took 3 QBs (Mahomes, Ryan, Wentz) in another 6pt TD league I’m in. I just felt like QB was the only value I could get later in the draft. A few teams ended up with Dak and Stafford as starters.

I’ll be looking to package either Ryan or Wentz with a flex to return an improvement to my starting lineup.

It’s hard to do a straight QB for a starter trade, but you can work out a 2 for 1

Yep

If ya had a quarter for every Dak, Rivera, stafford, Cam, Brady, cousins and Jameis owner who go calling for a QB

i believe i won the league one year drafting multiple QBs. ended up having bortles as my main man by the end though

*ETA: just pointing out that (a) like you said it's worth trying different things and it can win and (b) FFB is still a luckbox crapshoot. i won the title that year starting bortles, allen robinson, allen hurns, mercedes lewis, and denard fricking robinson in the title game. i drafted 1 of those guys and they were all jags.

I tried to play the averages with Goff and Lamar Jackson. Just glad I only paid $2 for him instead of the $30+ he was going for earlier in the draft.

I think you should think about how these statements

quote:

I’m never a middle of the road guy, I’m either top 4 or bottom 4 lol, and I’m cool with that.

quote:

I won three leagues last year on the back of Conner and wasn’t a Bell owner in any of them. How people don’t realize the seriousness of these situations is beyond me.

Conflict with this statement

quote:

That said, I can’t see how anyone can spend money on a Zeke or Gordon and not spend the extra 10 bucks or whatever to get Pollard or Ekeler. You’re already getting the guy at a discount so just pay the extra to lock down the backfield you’ve already invested in. It makes absolutely zero sense to me.

They don’t conflict at all

Are you trying to say that the people that invested in Zeke and Gordon and not the guys that will almost assuredly start multiple games in their place are “going big or going home”?

Because that isn’t the case at all. The investment required to solidify those high price guys was so minimal as to be practically pointless not to.

Drafting a hot name like Duke Johnson and paying a higher price tag for his high ceiling even though his floor is precarious would qualify as go big or go home. Or AB, as I did, even with the drama surrounding him, although he seems to have stabilized.

Those are boom or bust picks.

Zeke and Gordon are only boom or bust if you make them that way by passing on their backups when you could easily protect the investment in them and just choose not to.

Hell Ekeler is a legit flex play even when Gordon comes back. It’s simply nonsensical to not secure those guys

Tiger league. I'm in the market for a back

Adams or dj Moore or kirk OTB

Adams obviously will cost more than Moore and kirk
