yeah, you're going to need to make a trade or two to make this work

It’s nothing earth shattering. I got caught up bidding one of the guys. Wanted to leave the draft with 2 anyway. I Want to maintain trade value, so won’t say who I got caught up bidding
When I wrote my QB rankings out last week, all 3 were in my top 6, along with Luck. So If 4 of the top guys are gone in a 12 tm league, I’m ok with that even if I can’t trade one.

I would have eaten Russ at that point too
Enjoy your josh Allen and jameis Winston

dont get me wrong i loved Baker at $6.
felt like you had pretty good leverage w/ $23 and 7 spots to fill. probably coulda handpicked the rest of your bench for $2-4ea.
yea then the RW nomination that was a big wtf moment.

learned another lesson last night... early in bidding never use the "plus $1" button. got stuck with multiple players i wasn't targetting.
ex: Ingram is at $6, i go to push +$1, someone ups the bid from $6 to $18 and I'm stuck with him at $19.
typing the number in the bid box next year

Tbh I haven’t had great success in auction leagues. I’ve tried every strategy imaginable. Met somewhere in the middle this time with my starting lineup. For the QBs, I don’t mind zigging a little when everyone else is zagging. We shall see

It's unorthodox, but it's not like you were spending a ton on the QBs you snagged. Pretty low risk imo

I think it’s better than being the lone bidder on Mahomes at $31.

I've been erratic in this league. I'm either 8-4 or 4-8/3-9.
I ended up with Brees at $3, Brady at $2 and Murray at $2. If I had gone with my initial targets, I would have spent $2 on 2 QBs total and the other $5 would have gone to a RB or WR.
I think I'm fine at WR if AJ Green can come back to form by W4 and I get something out of Coleman, Drake and/or Duke Johnson at RB.

3 qb stresses your bench a lot. It’s the only position that has only one spot in the starting lineup and the benefit gained from playing matchups isn’t great. Oh and they usually have very poor trade value.

I’m never a middle of the road guy, I’m either top 4 or bottom 4 lol, and I’m cool with that.
I identify the players I want and get them. I don’t let draft position dictate my moves in a snake and I’m happy to spend big early, save to handpick late, or spread evenly in auction.
I just want guys that im interested in watching in Sundays to make the games more fun. It honestly usually works out pretty well for me.
I don’t like judging other teams, every owner has their own thoughts on players and it can work out just as easily as it can fall apart. So many variables and yes, luck.
That said, I can’t see how anyone can spend money on a Zeke or Gordon and not spend the extra 10 bucks or whatever to get Pollard or Ekeler. You’re already getting the guy at a discount so just pay the extra to lock down the backfield you’ve already invested in. It makes absolutely zero sense to me.
I won three leagues last year on the back of Conner and wasn’t a Bell owner in any of them. How people don’t realize the seriousness of these situations is beyond me.
Gordon isn’t coming back until week 10, and he’ll be tapping his helmet at record pace once he does.
Zeke will be back but he is one of three guys without a contract, so to assume he’s back week 1 is just such a big risk. Pollard is a single digit investment. 1, 2, maybe 4 weeks of an RB1 it’s just easily worth it, especially if you’ve gotten Zeke for high 50s when he’s a high 60s guy if he’s in camp.
Will be interesting to see how it plays out, but I’m guessing there are going to be a lot of disappointed guys that didn’t secure their investments.
