Good question! When I moved up here in 2004, it was generally Cook County (Chicago) vs the rest of the state. Now once ruby red counties like DuPage, Will , Kendall and Kane are blue. My county of McHenry still is red! The reason for the shift now is demographics, republicans moving to Wi and Indiana, and of course A.W.F.U.L.’s (affluent white female ultra liberals)

From the polls, downstate and western Illinois had high voter turnout. This may be due to the ban on “assault” weapons.

hispanic and black votes breaking republican or staying home would be my guess.

Yeah he crushed her with Hispanics.

I will also add that Reddit is furious over the no primary thing now. But when it happened and a few were voicing concerns then, they were shouted down and told to get behind her. That and her position on Gaza are what progressives think did her in. :lol

I'm suspecting a one time thing. Democrats will still control it and as such the overall politics of the State

This can't be stated enough! You know deep down the Dems knew this election was a lost cause with Kameltoe and Tampon Tim. A cackling woman who could talk for hours and you are left wondering what she said. She refused to answer direct questions on her positions. And then you have soundbites of her previous positions which were in total opposition to what few things we were able to get her to admit. Kameltoe even refused to say she would close the border, that was telling!

Genuinely curious how it’s now a ~5 point state after almost being a 20 point state to the Dems previously. Did a bunch of people leave Chicago? Or is this a likely 1-time thing with Kamala not winning over urbans and minorities.

People realizing that having a functional president with mean tweets is better than shitshow the last 4 years have been with a early dementia president.

Progressivism is a feminist ideology.

Men hate it. Even men with darker skin. Democrats are fricking tards.

It is quite simple. People are tired of being lied to by their government and the MSM. They have spoken in record numbers that they are no longer going to listen to this crap and will no longer be shamed into supporting issues that conflict with what their heart tells them.

2020 was an orchestrated STEAL due to very unique changes in voting caused by a global pandemic. That STEAL caused this country and the world four years of human misery. We have to reform elections and we have to vow as a people to accept being OUT of power. America first.

Illinois is ruby red outside of Chicago.

It's got the same problem Georgia does.

In Illinois?

illinois is one of the bedrocks of vote harvesting in all it's forms. always has been. just because they haven't had to do it doesn't mean they don't. organized labor sends "organizers" and "business managers" to metropolitan polling centers to pretty much fill out ballots for people that aren't going to vote. if you don't believe it, that's fine, things don't exist solely because of your own beliefs and knowledge (or lack thereof).
