Maricopa County -- can someone summarize why it'd take so long to "count?"

I get the size of the County. It's absolutely massive. One of the largest in the country.

4.6M people there out of the entire state of AZ being 7.4M. 62% of the population.

But do they have some kind of mandatory hand count? And who is doing the counting?

It took so long last time because ballots weren’t able to be counted automatically.

The more cynical among us thought that was a feature for the people in power. Not a bug.

As of January 2024, France's population is 68,4 million people. This makes France the second most populated country in Europe, after Germany

There is no reason a state has to take so long to count votes

I live in Phoenix and voted on Thursday. The ballot us 2 pages with lots of props to vote on. I think that contributes to the waiting times. It took my son about 15 minutes to fill out his ballot.

I don't understand why these states that will not even open envelopes until election day don't mobilize their national guards to do it en masse instead of 100 or 200 poll workers across the state.

Ship all the mail ballots to a giant warehouse in the capitol of the state and mobilize 2000 or 3000 national guard members to open, validate, and scan all of them in a few hours. Call it a day and go home that night to a job well done rather than dragging this shite out for a week.

One official said it is going to take so long because it'll take twice as long to remove the ballots from the envelopes.

I like that idea.

However, the response from the state bureaucrats will be that the national guard aren’t certified envelope openers. They probably so require continuing education on validating signatures.

There were 79 races and propositions to vote on. Ridiculous beyond measure.

One of the props is designed to limit the number of props on a ballot, so hopefully that one passes and the one making it legal for the guy manning the high pressure hose at the car wash to perform abortions moments before baby would otherwise draw first breath loses.

Paper ballots and a lot of races and issues on the ballot. Human tabulators also make mistakes and have to be double checked in real time. For millions of ballots, that simply takes time.

Just dedicate the October warrior weekend to ballot handling training. It's not like they just sit at home all year waiting to be called up. They have a camping trip every month.

As I understand, the state allows mail-in ballots to be received up to 3 days following election day. Insane.

Their ballot is 4 pages and has 72 races on it. Just takes longer to open mail, feed through scanner, etc.

This Arizona county and state is one of the swing states that the marxists took over by putting "their" people in the power positions. SOS, GOV, County Commission, all are working together to break the rules to fabricate votes after election night. Once they see how many they have to fabricate, they get to work on pulling illegal votes by different methods.

No state has ever needed to count past election day until that magical COVID time in 2020. Now, it's common place. Now it's supposed to be normal.

Maricopa County

Some idiot in office decided to have 77 ballot measures and races for this election cycle.

That is alot of offices and things to vote on. Let me guess you can vote for several offices including dog catcher in that county.
