Isn’t closing the polls voter suppression?

Why would any state have some polls close at one time and other polls close at another time? Just seems needlessly confusing.

it's the same closing time, just different timezones.

so for example in Florida 7pm eastern in most of the state, and 7pm central for the panhandle.

Time zones homie.

Some states span two time zones.

Gotta be confusing and aggravating living close to one of these time zone lines.

Drive 10 minutes east or west and the time changes.

You: “Meet me at Bob’s pub at 5:00.”
Buddy: “5:00 eastern or central?”
You: “What time zone is Bob’s in?”
Buddy: “I’m not sure, it’s like right on the line.”
You: “Oh for fricks sake. I’ll call you when I’m leaving.”

The Florida line is in the middle of the boonies. So is the one in NE and KS.

Not sure about the other states.

I worked with a girl years ago that was from Indiana. Her school was in a different time zone. Crazy shite indeed.

I once worked on a job site that was literally on at the Eastern/Central time line.

was aggravating as hell because everybody's phones and watches kept automatically switching back and forth between the two during the course of the day.

especially when doing testing logs that have to notate time of day.
