Long story short I’m a bit of an albatross being conservative in the tech field but I really do not make my politics known. I work with a bunch of “hip” chicks and tech nerds who’ve made it very known there voting for Kameltoe… I was planning on going to vote at lunch today but inexplicably my manager told me I had to switch own call with another co worker for “personal reasons”. This means I have to work through lunch and stay late which usually isn’t a big deal because you prepare for when you’re on call and get paid extra but now this blows up my entire plan to vote… they knew I was planning on going to vote at lunch today and I have a strong suspicion this is the “personal reason”. Do I have and recourse??

They are required by law to give you time to vote.

You man up and tell them you're going to vote. Nothing they can do. If they try tell them kiss your arse.

They are required to give you breaks at work. This isn't an option.

Tell them you’re going to exercise your constitutional right and if they don’t like it they can speak to your attorney….after you tell your story to the local TV station.

Yep. I’m sure there’s a lawyer who’d love the pub.

Where do you live? If it's a swing state, tell them you are going to vote and that's all there is to it.

Why Election Day should be a national holiday.

But…. They don’t want hard working Americans to actually vote.

People still work on national holidays

Only the DNC bribed government workers are guaranteed to get those days off
