What do you think Trump as POTUS means for the O&G industry

Hopefully reduces taxes, making it cost effective to drill at lower prices

Well we know he's pro fossil fuels, and I don't think the Middle East was pulling for him, so I would assume all things point to positives for LA

Maybe he slows some regulations coming from unelected officials in government and streamlines permitting on Blm lands, but that's probably about all he could do. Reality is the American president has little say in the price of oil or gas which are dictated by worldwide markets. The current glut won't change because the president changes.

Regulatory environment will be what he can affect the most in the short term. Sauds and OPEC and price will take time. Especially if he rolls back sanctions on Russia.

See a reduction in regulation...
This doesn't fix the massive amount of oil in storage.
You can't fix supply and demand with a new president.
What I do think though, is Saudi really pushing this production cut. They won't have Clinton pulling favors for them anymore, so they might be relying on supply and demand to keep the country under control. This means production cut. Although OPEC is a bunch of crazy shits that haven't agreed on anything since the beginning of time.
He could provide incentive for refining of domestic oil, leading to less imports. Problem here is, most units in are set up for a certain type of oil to reap the most of each stock barrel of that particular oil weight. For example, I believe the alliance refinery in Belle Chasse is set up for Venezuelan heavy oil. Changing these units over to different oil baskets cost a lot of money.
May see better domestic outlook, but the fed will probably be changing the interest rates soon to screw trump, this will have a negative affect on lending to the shale companies. Probably some more bankruptcies in the near future.

I sure do pray and hope so! There's tons of work to be done but budgets/AFE's are very much bare bones right now and have been cut so much. Some platforms only spend money when BESSE inks them.

Fracing is about to become illegal in the US and I hope it does. I have sustained so much earthquake damage to my home it's ridiculous.

Could he slow down imports and make us more independent. We produce more O&G gas than we consume daily.
Why not cut off imports from OPEC?
