Some outlets were talking about the enormous amount of republicans that came out to vote that may have never voted, or who haven't voted in a while. Something sparked Trump's silent vote. Media may have had a little to do with it. That, and the fact that Trump has expressed intentions to destroy the current establishment that so many ppl are tired of.
