It mandated that no one could be turned down for coverage for folks with a pre-existing condition and that insurance companies couldn't dump a person with a serious illness because it wasn't fiscally preferable.
and people wonder why there was a huge coverup with the unsubstainable cost of Obama Care. There is no way to regulate cost when you allow off the street cancer patients to have immediate access to coverage. It's not an efficient business model and that's why Obama care is going up and will continue to go up and it's not even affordable for the middle class.

It does also have some shortcomings, for sure, like some limitations on physician choice and the rates were not as low as promised
So some "shortcomings" to you means doing exactly the opposite of what it was intended to do. Got it.

Obamacare is a scam.
Anything Republicans come up with to replace it will be better.

Maybe we should address that specific question and establish a "catastrophic risk pool" fund or transition those people over to Medicaid rather than cripple our entire economy with a gigantic failing system that has pissed off nearly every productive person in America first, huh sport?

That will still be illegal, I assure you.
Obamacare is a disaster from a cost perspective.

The only good part of the whole damn thing

"Some" limitations on physician choice?
Tell me how many doctors are in the Obamacare plan directories verses those in the commercial plan directories. Just use BCBS in your state.

I could buy a second home with the cost of ACA. It did have the one positive of pre-existing conditions, but every single other aspect of the ACA is complete and utter garbage.

Obamacare has benefited thousands (millions?) of Americans sure, but I think the general idea is that we can do so much better.

There are probably a few pages out of the 10k+ that we can keep around..
We had this debate years ago to no avail.. Pr-existing should fall under another marketplace supplemented by the feds. The bundling with everyone else only makes all our healthcare more unaffordable.

What about the coverage also being really shitty? Great, more people are insured now. That's all that was accomplished and it wasn't even a good accomplishment...a lot of people are young/healthy and don't need insurance. I didn't have/need it it for a while in my life. Now that I'm out of school and working, I have it, but still don't use it though.
Also, now we have quantity and not quality in insurance plans. The system we had before this shite was amazing compared to this and cheaper.
Typical government though...create a highly complex solution(that doesn't actually work) for a simple problem(that really wasn't a problem).

Actually, it's double that number.

I would wager that no single human on the planet has read then entirety of the law.
Ask yourself, why does it need 20k pages?

my prediction is obamacare is not repealed.
Posted on 11/9/16 at 1:55 pm to SP2016
Obamacare = a much shittier version of Tricare and almost as shitty as VA care.

What was your prediction on the election?
Posted on 11/9/16 at 1:56 pm to jorconalx
I'm not so sure that Trump's (a business minded man) promise to include the non-exclusion aspect of Obamacare in his health care reforms will be honored.
We'll see.
We'll see.
