Lithium Cranking and Trolling Motor Batteries

A few months ago there was a lot of discussion here about advances in lithium battery technology.
Has anybody 100% converted their fishing boat to lithium ?
If so, how is it working out ?

CBR90000000000000000 did, I believe. He may chime in here, you've set off his bat signal.

I have a friend who did. He seems to love them. Im still to scared of them to swap. I can picture about what a battery fire in the console of fiberglass boat would look like. Ill give it another 5 years before I make the change.

I use 3 small lithiums for my trolling motor. It's on a 21 foot frontier so it's not pushing around the largest boat. Has enough capacity for the whole day. I forget the model but they're on Amazon for about $70. If I had the trolling motor with less batteries or a much larger boat I don't think this would be an option. Just got a new starting/boat battery an AGM Energizer from Sam's. Probably the best deal right now at about $140.

I went 4 days on my 36v 80ah bank with my trolling motor without plugging in and never lost power. They are worth the price alone with the weight loss, the extra power is gravy. I still have a traditional marine group 31 battery as my cranking battery.

If you have the stomach do deal with ordering direct from the manufacture in China you can save a bundle, I paid less than 1/2 what batteries would have cost from a US reseller.

Im 100% lithium, I love it. T motor never gets weak and i cant kill them.
I did it for weight savings in the skiff.

I did this but they crapped out in 3 years. I went with the bass pro model this time, they are made by Relion, which is a very respected brand.

Still haven't installed my TM lithiums. May look for a way to convert them to prongs. Getting them hooked to everything with bolts is a PITA.

This is from the Yamaha site:
The final word on what type/size/rating of battery you must use is in your outboard’s owner’s manual – for example, Yamaha Marine Group specifies flooded-cell batteries to avert potential overcharging gel-cell or AGM during extend periods of high-speed engine operation.

My cranking battery is still SLA, but I bought 2 LiFePO4 12v 100ah batteries for my trolling motor and the weight savings are worth the price in my Alweld 1756. They weight distribution is better with a 12 gal tank and all 3 batteries near the stern.

Been eying Lithium batteries from afar. Just getting some weight out of the back would be a big plus.... extra power would be a bonus.

Had mine about a year, cranking and 24v trolling motor. Weight saving is unreal, trolling motor battery last forever.

I appreciate everybody's input. I'm repowering my boat (whenever the dealer gets my engine) and have been thinking this might be the time to move up to Lithium.

I converted TM over to lithium’s.
Best decision I’ve made. I did Relion 100 A-hr.
