I wonder what we could have done had he been starting the past 3 years

What a redemption story

Or maybe opposing defenses just play totally different with the threat of a 15+ yard pass.

No they don’t

Jameis just operates the offense better then a beaten to shite, washed Brees. Don’t look deeper than that, it just makes you look dumb

I don’t know about the last few years being shy different, but you can’t say that they team didn’t play with more energy & focus today than you’ve seen them with in a long time. That’s not a knock on Drew, in fact it’s quite the opposite because every player & coach knows they have to step up because “old Mr. Reliable” ain’t there anymore. Same for Payton & Carmichael, just like the last 2 years when Brees went down injured and we played with Teddy & Taysom, coaches took that challenge head on and brought their A game. Today we saw the entire rise to that challenge
Maybe people might not like Winston, even after today, but nobody can deny the energy he brings every play. And with the way he has been this whole preseason with his maturation he’s grown into a leader and that attitude has been infectious and is influencing others. It’s completely opposite from Brees, but exactly what we needed post Brees!

You couldn’t have a Brees type QB following Brees, just wouldn’t work. We got lucky, we all know he can sling the ball, what we didn’t know was could he manage a game and he did that to damn near perfection today.

What I saw from the team today is that they all seemed to be playing as equals. They were not playing for the legend and HOF to get him his wins, they were playing to get the win for themselves. Papa bear was gone and it was on each of them today.

Wasn't drew qb when we absolutely annihilated the bucs last year???? Where do you people with your hot takes come from.. such prisoners of the moment.

shite just looked over the schedules of last 2 years, theres a bunch of domination games. Guess drew was so good he overcame the rest of the team not playing hard in those games?? What a dumb, pointless narrative.

Lines were dominant. We ran the frick out of the ball. This is why we dominated.

I too wonder how Winston would have done starting for the Saints while he was also starting for the Bucs.

Lol Jameis has a long way to go before I trust him. Beating down a suspect Packers team is one thing but there are 16 other games left to play. Brees was washed but he was still effective in getting 12-13 wins. Jury still out on Jameis.

Dude…its one game, very similar to our regular season game against tampa last year. He would not have done better than brees in 2018 or 2019
