Literally EVERY SINGLE GENRE stacked. You could go to the theater every week and catch an amazing movie in whatever genre you wanted, a dozen movies up there would vie for Best movie of its genre post-2000.
I remember living at the theater as an 18-19 year old. Haven't felt the same since.
Even the mediocre movies (and I listed quite a few) were different and interesting.

2007 had some truly phenomenal films and 2012 was fantastic in its own right. I've come to stan for 2006. The first half of that year only had like 2 good films:

Yeah, I think both 2006 and 2008 were way better than 2007. 2 out of my top 10 films weren’t only released in 2006 but in the same week.

i'll never watch most of those again (maybe life of Pi or Les Mis,) but they were movies that were actually interesting and had been seen by the public unlike most years where they all had limited releases.
but... there's a ton of rewatchability in that list..
