Sure seems like every other college team I watch does it. Why doesn’t LSU. Soft ball does it also.

For those of us who played at some point, it's been a legitimate question.
Simply because someone asks a question such as this doesn't mean everything else is overlooked.

not sure who it was, but they asked teams not to do it this season due to Covid...less touches, but some teams still do it

Hellmers isn't out there anymore and, quite frankly, I think Hellmers would be making most of the plays that our defensive ace is at 2B. Think about that, we're running our defensive, 0 offense, infielder out there at 2B on a daily basis.
