looking for somewhere to go for a short 4-day vacation in March. We are typically in Kauai this time of year but our trip was canceled (they were still doing the 14 day quarantine when everything is typically booked). So looking to stay closer to home and thought about trying Florida.
Wondering if anyone had input on specific places to stay on the beach? I’m wanting to go somewhere that has plenty to see and do nearby as I am not just a sit in the beach all day person- walking distance preferably with good food!

We are looking at Key Largo in early April. Southwest has really cheap flights to Miami. RT, non stop for under $100.

At least out of Houston. I’ve never been so not sure if it checks all your boxes.

Sarasota / siesta key area has plenty to offer. An hour north, south and west offers plenty more.

Not sure about MLB this year....but we went to South Florida a couple of years ago for spring break during March. We went to a few spring training games and spent some time on the beach.

It was a great trip.

I'd consider Clearwater Beach. You can do the marine aquarium right there, and then you can take a day to go to Busch Gardens.

Check out Delray Beach and the Opal Grand. It is right on Atlantic Ave which is awesome and everything is walkable. You have cheaper options if you don't want to stay right on the beach. Sundy House is cool from what I have heard, and half the price. I have not stayed there though. Tons of restarants, bars, shops, art galleries and all kinds of things on Atlantic Ave.

Atlantic Ave Delray Beach

Cheap flights into Ft Lauderdale too, which is close by.

I’d post up at Marco Island or Boca Grande. Maybe Sanibel / Captiva if you wanted a more laid back trip.

There is not much to do on Boca Grande. Great spot though. My sister has a house on the water.

Pretty good suggestion. be prepared for the vast majority of people to be from Ohio this time of year

Do you plan to get out of the resort at all? We looking to do a day in the Everglades but I’m having trouble planning out a day. If you get out, any tips would be appreciated

man i haven't gotten that far. just will play it by ear when we get there. leaving 3 kids behind so the last thing we want to do is busy ourselves, but after day 3 of doing nothing, we might get out and go do something
