I’m not, but my son is throwing 700 decoys out in a rice field near Cash as I type this. Lots of Specks and some teal and mallards were seen this morning. Report from an hour north of them is that they are covered in ducks that are heading south. Probably gonna be a good opening weekend in NE Arky.

He’s young and dumb. I guarantee you I wouldn’t put that many out if there were 5 of us doing it. There were only 2 of them.

Will be there next weekend. Hopefully some ducks push down with next weekends cold front.

We had a camp in Felsenthal for 20 years a while back.

We would get up at 3 am to get our "hole" staked out and decoys out, never failed that some yahoo would come motoring in right at daybreak

We killed em but I'm too old for that mess now

Not sure how many my son and his 4 buddies have killed so far, but I know he got a sweet Pintail.

Had some friends whose family had camps at Felsenthal back in the 80’s. The hunting was good back then before it got to be a shite show. Went back and hunted it a few times in 2002 when I lived in Haughton - still fair hunting if you avoid the crowd. Where you from?

At last count my decoy trailer had right at 1100 between Canada , snows, specks and duck field dekes. About half of those are shells and socks, the rest full bodies That’s the field spread. I think right at 400 floating duck and 150 floating gooses dekes in the shop. I got rid of 6 dozen crane dekes when I left NM. Waterfowl hunting is a disease.....

It’s been several years since I have used most of those 1100. I can usually get about 100 - 150 set per gun but more than that it’s just too much work. I’ve about come to the conclusion that Canada’s, giants anyway, prefer small spreads...... maybe just laziness but I kill as many giants over 60 as I do 300. Snows and cacklers not so much.
