Pels Talk can breath a massive sigh of relief.

One thing that caught my eye:

"Two more finalist are expected to interview next week"

So if that holds true, Fletch's "sources" that SVG could be coach by the end of this week would be wrong.

The other thing that caught my eye:

Basically saying that SVG and Lue are both guys that will be offered the job? Or expected to be? So will they offer it to both and see who really wants it?

I expect the names of the other two candidates will emerge this weekend. One of them is probably Jamahl Mosely.

That’s great news! I’m good with either SVG or Lue.

So who are the other two?

SOunds like Mosley might be one of them. WHo's the other?

And i don't want Mosley.

RIght now from the top 4, i'd say i'd list them as
whoever is the unknown 4th
Lue
SVG
Mosley

I'm really hoping that unknown is someone i can get behind b/c i'm not thrilled about the other 3.

Will Weaver is who we've come up with as the 4th IIRC.

Mosley is the unknown on that list, and yet you can't get behind him.

Why?

I like his work experience as an assistant and who he's worked under a lot. That's about it.

In Denver, he was head of player development and scouting. Looking at their roster during his time there, they drafted no one worth a shite, or developed anyone. You don't get credit for Carmelo Anthony.
In his time in Cleveland, they drafted tons of guys, most who were duds, and developed no one except Tristan Thompson.
He was there when they drafted Bennett. Nice advanced scouting there. Griffin was too, and was named GM after they fired their GM midway into the season after drafting Bennett, and that's also when Mosley left as well. Guess they wanted to get rid of anyone that had anythign to do with drafting Bennett.

He was a guy that was supposed to be a player development guy and scouter for 10 years with the nuggets and Cavs, and the track record behind that is pathetic. I know it doesn't all fall on him as he's just an assistant, but it's a pretty terrible look.

He's been head of Dallas' defense the last 3 years. They have finished around 18 every year, and that's about where they were the years before that. What's special about that?

What has he done that makes you think he'd be a good HC? What is his crowning achievement as an assistant?

I just can't see how he's a legit candidate for a HC position.

Griffin admits that he was the person in the organization pushing for Bennett.

I feel the same way about Unseld. Denver’s defense was exactly highly rated this season. They were very middle of the road

Probably under the assumption that Lue is going to take another job, which is why they will both be offered the job. I could see a situation where they are using the "two candidates" next week as leverage. I don't think that line means that the Pels for sure won't hire a coach before then.
