A Big Ten president involved in the decision to resume the season tells NBCNews, “President Trump had nothing to do with our decision and did not impact the deliberations. In fact, when his name came up, it was a negative because no one wanted this to be political.”

Why did his name come up in the first place then if it wasn't political?

Imagine being a president of a major university and being such a bitch

If anything I have learned from Trump during this period is that I can be conservative and still be vocal. I always kinds did not give my opinion and just supported my beliefs. Now, I tell people if they ask...

The whole reason they canceled the season was for political reasons.

What is the translation of "HA" from English to Pussy?
ETA:
The interesting side-take is that Donald Trump probably wanted football "as a dude who likes college football" MORESO than as a political move anyway.
I'm not saying there weren't political calculations, but unlike most of his predecessors going back to the 1950s Eisenhower and Trump are perhaps the only ones who could believably say they did it for the sake of football NOT for politics!

It was political from the beginning. All of this is political. It’s amazing that the American public aren’t more outraged by the willingness to destroy the American economy, putting millions out of work, simply to make a guy with an “R” next to his name look bad.

So if Trump had nothing to do with any of this then why did his name come up in the meeting?

You knew it was political from day one when no one in the media, no politician, nobody, was willing to provide any type of SCIENTIFIC evidence that shutting down, social distancing and/or mask wearing would make any difference in the proliferation of this virus, nor whether the shut down would cause more damage than any virus ever could. The debate never happened. Then, when the power hungry fanatics got their way, they could NEVER EVER admit they were wrong. They might actually be held accountable for their actions.

I hope a reporter asks them point blank what changed in the science or what changed with Covid breakthroughs that made them change their mind so we can watch them squirm

Almost every decision made these days is political.

Anyone heard anything out of Klobochar or Stretchin Gretchen today? Both were crowing about killing the season earlier this year.

Per sources, Michigan Board of Regents will have a vote of no confidence against President Mark Schlissel.
Schlissel is expected to be relieved as Michigan’s president, although the vote has not taken place yet.

B1G officials had votes in place on Friday to restart fall football season and were told Michigan was on board with vote. When B1G Presidents were ready to vote Schlissel then changed his vote to stop the Big Ten start.

Earlier today Board of Regents were made aware of emails over the last 36 hours that detailed reason not to start fall season because it would look as if The White House was the reason the B1G would play.
(This is just me saying info I’ve gotten, and not a political opinion.)

B1G teams have been ready for the season for days now, and coaches and AD’s were told to be ready because restart could be voted on at any time.
The only thing holding up B1G football is Michigan President Mark Schlissel. B1G reporters can confirm this statement.

That answer and their actions more importantly tells anyone it was always political.
