Any recommendations on already built box stands. Was going to build a 8x5x6ft for behind the house. Just material was going to cost over $1,000. Guy in Kenner saling 6x6 stand for just over $1,000. Also lazyman stand fatgirl $1,200 plus $200-$400 to build platform. Wanting to hunt me, wife, and 2 sons 9 and 3. Thanks

I built one out of 2x3s and OSB painted. 2x4 and 2x6s for base. Ordered some brackets for legs for 80.00.

4x6. 6 ft talll. Tar paper and utility grade metal roofing.

Start to finish about 325.00 and about 6 hours work.

ETA: I have no recommendations for pre built because people want rediculous money for them and some I looked at were hilariously over built. It’s Louisiana not Alberta and Im good on fall out shelters.

Neighbor and I are building 2 this year. He’s doing home renovations and the contractors under strict instructions to stack anything usable in a pile

Depending upon how much of your family will be in the stand at one time go bigger than you think.

I have build three 10'x6' the last few years they are very nice to put 2-3 kids and and adult in. I put them on skids so I don't have to elevate them so much.

Our club has mostly 6x4 boxes and it's next to impossible to put me and two kids (10&8) in the box we manage to make it work but it's not easy.

Hunted on a friends property last year. He is good with the carpentry and OCD. Built a damn 10x10 box you could live in. Just immaculate. You could fit 9 full grown people in that thing if you wanted. It was overlooking a nice 80x50 or so plot. Almost felt like I wasn't hunting.

Good lord. I'd put a matress in there and just camp out in it

How nice are you making this thing? I know lumber prices are up but am I missing something? Also, I try to build stuff like this in the 8x4 size. So you don’t have to make as many cuts especially odd ones and just use whole boards.

I have 2 lazyman stands and I’d highly recommend - they will last forever and seal up tight in offseason (no wasps etc get in). Get one and u are set for years

I won a very nice redneck blind last year, I love it but I'm not sure I would sink that kind of money in it. With stand my model is on sale for a bit over 3k.

I built an 8x8 elevated blind for around a 1000 this summer, that includes 5 48x11 vertical glass windows, a full width staircase and exterior door.

By the time I got 2 comfy office chairs and a medium tub to store, tp, paper towels, snacks and water its is already getting tight. I can have my 2 kids with me but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fit my wife as well.

Have considered building a folding bunk in the back though for days its just me and I'll be staying all day.

Built a 4x8 a couple years ago and had between 750-1000 by the time it was complete. Kind of wish I had bought a prefab box from muddy or redneck and just built my own base.
