I really enjoyed it. I know some people probably hate the black hole scene stuff but it’s one of my favorite Nolan films

didnt she say no one believed her when she said it was her dad who saved humanity. I think even she may have had some slight doubts even if she said she knew it was him that whole time

I chalked it up to a “its not possible’...’no, its necessary’ kinda event. Murph solved gravity to allow humans to repopulate other planets and make it to the future to do the 5th dimension stuff. Coop sacrificed life with his family for it to happen. None of that shite was possible, but it was necessary so it happened lol. Love that movie.

One of my favorite movies ever. The very end was wasted to me. Under no circumstance would a guy who did what Cooper had done been treated like he was just a nurse coming into the room to check blood pressure. He would have been surrounded by his grandchildren and Murphy would have been heralding him to her family from her bed. He walks in...has a little bedside chat....and walks out. They screwed that up bad.

That's a good point. I never thought about it in that way.

They weren’t humans. They were descendants of humans that transcended into 5th dimension beings. And further, “they” were not actually there at the end. The tesseract was created by them and placed there in the past.

Yes, I understood that but it doesn't change the paradox either way.

The plot hole is Cooper sending himself there. They should have simplified it to the pilot dying before they can take off and that Cooper is the only man for the job.

As for the 5th dimensional humans, only one branch of humanity in a near infinite number of timelines has to survive in order for 5th dimensional beings to help us in our timeline.

I like the idea of Kevin Spacey as Dr Mann.

Yeah, he would have been a good choice as well.

Just watched it for the second time since it’s release.

What a phenomenal movie. The characters, music, anticipation, emotions, and it was so thought provoking. I loved it.

They way it ended, when is the sequel coming out?

Which kind of makes the conceit of the film suck. Way too convenient if at any point in a time 5th dimensional humans can ignore time and save the day.

All tension, gone. Just a giant deus ex machina.

Less convenient than aliens doing it for us.

I respect anyones opinion that liked it, and it was very well made movie and acted very well.

For me personally I could never get past the whole
“SCIENCE SCIENCE SCIENCE love conquers all” part of the film.

“Gravity” at least used that as a motivational moment for the main character to keep on moving.

Interstellar used love as a force more powerful than physics.

Gravity had a way more stupid scientific inconstancy than Interstellar did: the debris orbiting around the Earth at that velocity would have escaped orbit. In order to orbit Earth, you have to fall at the same rate you orbit, or else you fall towards Earth or escape it. I guess love bonding people is technically possible, but that isn’t.

I agree with that 100%

Love didn’t form a personal relationship btw father and daughter it conquered a black hole in Interstellar.

It was a good movie and enjoyed it the one time I saw it in the theater but have never felt the need to see it again since.
