Ah the memories. Halloween night 1959. They don't come around that often and this year we have a GD bye. What say we move bama up a week :).

I wasn't alive on Halloween night in 1959, and I would imagine most of the board here wasn't either. And if they were, they were very young considering that was 61 years ago.

I know it lives in the nostalgia of LSU football, but there are probably not that many attending LSU games at this time who have ACTUAL memories of that game.

LSU has been playing Alabama on the first or second weekend of November for a LONG time. Other than on one occasion in 1981, the last time LSU and Bama didn't play in November was 1958. I would venture to guess there are more people alive with memories of the LSU/Bama battles in November than there are with memories of Halloween night in 1959

I don't think there's any argument that it helped us in 2019....BUT I get where you are coming from it could help or hurt you.

If we had one in 2015, we might have ended up in a NY6 bowl. Arkansas totally took advantage of a beat up LSU team coming off a big loss to the tide

I went to the Tulane game on Halloween night in 2009. It sucked. Me and 3/4 of the stadium left at halftime to go to a Halloween party.

If the whatever weekend in whatever month is so sacred in SEC lore for Alabama and Tennessee, why not the weekend closest to Halloween for L S U and Ole Miss?
How many people have living memory of when the Vol/Gump game was an actual football game?
But the SEC office jumps through it's collective butts to keep it. The entire schedule making for the whole conference revolves around it.

SEC knew this years in advance and should have scheduled a game. And I'll throw salt in the wound. Halloween is on a Saturday night this year AND it's a full moon, and it's a year where we have Ole Miss at home.

Perfect. Deer hunting is always good on Halloween, won’t have to miss an afternoon hunt

Guarantee every one of them was among the 175,000 fans in Tiger Stadium that night.
