This reminds me of a funny story from my high school days. In the mid-80s there was a widespread fad of people raising emus as a retirement sideline job. Everyone referred to them as ostriches and at the time I didn't really know the difference. (Emus are roughly the size of a man, ostriches are considerably bigger.) My buddy and I had dropped acid earlier, I believe it was my second time tripping. Around midnight my buddy's mother somehow tracked us down at our hideout with the news that her parents 14 ostriches had escaped and were rampaging through the suburbs of Hamburg, AR. So off we went to the rescue.

That night, tripping my balls off, I learned that actual ostriches are 8-10 feet tall and the proper way to herd them is to look straight up into their beady little eyes and make disparaging comments about their mothers until you goad them into charging. At which point you simply lead them back inside the gate. The maneuverability afforded by our teenaged knees and ankles would eventually carry the day but in hindsight the godless beasts were significantly better led. The Battle of Old Berlin Road will not be forgotten
