If the lights go out for an hour during the game, will that be NOLA's end for big events?

Sorry that your city is too crappy to host major sports events almost every year like New Orleans does.

The SD is way outdated and needs to be replaced. Period. If the state and Saints do that, then MORE Super Bowls, NCAA Championships, NBA All-Star games, etc. line up quickly.

Yeah, the Dome really struggles to host such events.

Btw, the Dome is about to get completely overhauled and modernized. It’s the perfect stadium in the perfect location for events like this. The city will continue to get championship games.

Why would the NBA Allstar game(which was in Nola like 2 years ago) rush back because the Superdome was replaced?

The draw of the super dome is the location. It’s one of the few major sports arenas located downtown in a major city anymore.

A new stadium won’t be built in the same footprint. It would likely be moved to Metairie. The state of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans needs to keep the Superdome alive as long as possible

The Dome is fine and it's iconic. It's perfectly located central to everything as well. I go there, get a beer, a hot dog and watch football. Everyone has a great time. They are updating it, but the new thing is saying that every stadium needs to be updated or replaced every few years. It's a big freaking waste of money in my opinion. I used to go to the Georgia Dome for SEC Championships. Everybody had a great time and it was a great venue for the event. The new stadium is very nice, but the Georgia Done was fine as well.

The fact that it is a National Register of Historic Places it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Also the Super Bowl is being played in 2024 at the dome, so your entire statement is invalid.
