Reminds me of the beginning of Zero Dark Thirty when they play the 911 recordings of victims.

Excellent movie about a sad day in America’s history.
I do believe that it is a good recreation of what happened on that flight.
But part of me still thinks the plane may have been shot down by our own fighters to prevent another building being hit.... and as hard as it is to stomach I would agree with that call...if it had happened.
IMHO, every time a hellfire/maverick missile is launched and explodes on some jihadis , it makes me smile knowing the world just got a little bit safer....

This movie is ultra intense. To me the most fascinating part is that Ben Slimey actually played himself. And that 9/11 was his first day in his new role. Imagine that. Your first day as ATC chief, and you have to order every plane grounded.....

Damn that was pretty intense.

I have a harder time watching them actually hijack the plane and murder the pilots and the flight attendant. Especially the part where the lead hijacker tells the muscle hijacker that they don't need the flight attendant they're holding so the muscle hijacker says some kind of prayer and slits her throat.

Completely agree. Some a-hole downvoted the link I posted about Todd Beamer's "lets roll" conversation. They should be ashamed of themselves because those people on that plane were heros. Every single one of them.

So many people were crying in the theater during the final scene. I felt it was especially powerful because all of the screaming fades out as the music swells and the ground rushes up to meet the plane. Of course we'll never know exactly how it went down, but those people fought for their lives and they deserve to be remembered for their bravery.

great movie. but, the credits give away the fact that we probably shot it down. notice how they want to tell you this and that about how we couldn't. nice little diversion.

Same here. I saw it and the theater wasn't packed, but I'd say it was at least 2/3 full. And throughout the entire movie you could hear a pin drop in there. And then when it ended and faded to black, nobody moved for a good couple of minutes. Every single person in there just stared at the credits for a bit. And we all calmly walked out and nobody really said much. I don't remember a lot of crying really, but just a lot of faces full of all kinds of emotion.
I've never had a movie theater experience like it. And as somber and sort of odd as it was, looking back it was one of the coolest theater experiences I've ever had. Everyone left that theater and it felt like we were all on the same level. And the movie stayed with me for a while.
I've only watched it once or twice since then. It's like I have to work myself up to watch it because it's so intense. But it's great.

I like--well, maybe "like" isn't the right word--so, I prefer to think that everyone on that plane knew they weren't getting out alive. So their bravery isn't because of some nervous response--they weren't fighting for their own lives. They were fighting for the lives of countless others.
Amazing movie, but one I don't think I can watch again.
