Wow. That’s a shitty fit. 2 worst guys in the league at moving without the ball.

rox were going to make the playoffs with paul and they will do so with goatbrook.
however the thunder would have made it with Russ and George and now they are out.

that’s one less team for the pels to contend with now and in the short term future at least.
this trade helped the pels immensely

It also potentially created another “elite” team to keep the Lakers from winning the Western CF. Another win for the Pels.

Some detail has come out about the protections on the picks and swaps.

The two picks are top 4 protected, so those are pretty much going to convey in those seasons barring a miracle.

The 2025 swap, however, is something like 1-20 protected, making it basically useless. Depending on the interpretation, OKC would either need their own pick to be a high 20s pick (unlikely) or they would need to own another pick which would be in the high 20s (Clippers, perhaps) and hope Houston finishes somewhere between 21 and the Clippers' spot.

The 2021 swap could come into play depending on where Houston and the Clip Show's picks end up, but I don't see Houston dropping off sharply within the next 2 years. That assumes that the swap applies to any pick owned by the Thunder and not just to their own pick.

I don't see this as an "elite" team as much as Houston holding serve considering the number of teams that have emerged this offseason as the Warriors imploded.

OKC had a fire sale...good grief! That being said, is Westbrook going to be able to pull the ball away from Harden for a few minutes??

Has there ever been a tech called for punching your own teammate?

I think Harden/Westbrook will work a lot better than most here think. They will need nothing but 2 way guys that are shooters/rim runners around those 2, but Harden will no longer have to carry so much of the offensive load. My biggest worry if I were the Rockets is how will Russ handle being benched if he's having an off game? Because it seems like there's no point in taking the ball out of Harden's hands to let Russ shoot you out of a game.

On paper, the Pels would matchup nicely against a Harden/Westbrook backcourt

I am soooooo happy that CP3 got sent to OKC...he is largely responsible for the trend for stars to force their way to big markets to play with their friends. Also, as the players association president, he helped make his current contract situation

Add in that he is getting sent back to the city where his career started and it is funny as hell on a number of levels.

I love this so much. I got a feeling pretty much everybody hates playing with CP.
