If Tiger cobbles together five majors after turning 43 and all the other shite he’s been through he is the GOAT athlete period. All sports.
There are only like 18 other golfers that have won five majors. Tiger would be putting together a hall of fame career from 43 on. He would have an entire Phil Mickelson career worth of majors. It would be insane and I don’t doubt for a second that he might pull it off.

Better than he did yesterday...
He's won at Bethpage and Pebble Beach. The way he's playing, he's currently #6 in the world and can be #1 soon.
And btw, a May PGA Championship will feel weird. Players should be in May.

I wouldn’t say the posts seemed all that dumb at the time. A lot of people agreed with it.
I bookmarked them because I thought he would win again, but it speaks to how incredible of a comeback it is that so many people gave him zero chance to win a major again.

Augusta is absolutely a second shot golf course. Dukke is just spouting nonsense in this thread.
Leaders in strokes gained approach at the Masters the last five years and their finishes in the tourney:

Ehh, he plays a sport where you can play at your "prime" for 40 years. There aren't many other sports where you can have a 10 year gap in big wins and still have a chance to win 5 more.
What "other shite" has he been through that wasn't of his own creation? It was all him either cheating on his wife or being injured and trying to rush himself back.
I'm a fan of watching golf when Tiger is good, but he is in a sport that doesn't have the same physical demands on your body as other sports do. And before anyone says "golf is physical" tell me the next time an NFL player is in the top 10 players when he's 45+.
Couples was in the top 10 at the Masters at 50. VJ has won 20+ tournaments since he was 40

I think he gets another this year. Winning yesterday had to send his confidence through the roof

18.6%..... but 15 majors is still a hell of a career.

I don't hate the guy at all... He is fantastic at what he does and for A 5 year period was the best ever at any individual sport... But I have said since thanksgiving 2009 that he would never win another major.... I will stand by that statement... But if he somehow pulls one out I will gladly come here and say I was wrong/..............

It's going to be near impossible for him to get that many, but if anyone could it's Tiger. Never say never.
His confidence has got to be through the roof today. He's been back to being one of the best for a year now, this has been building for a year. Why should it stop now?
I will say he absolutely wins at least another major. It could very possibly be this year even given how he's playing and courses he has won on before. I could also see him winning at Augusta again after he played the weekend like a true veteran. He just knows the course so well and even in his down years was often competitive there.

He had the co-lead at the PGA last year on after the 9th hole of the final round. He was in serious contention for 2 majors last year.
I don't know if he wins 4 more that is a tough road. Let's say give him until 50 to do it. That is 31 more majors between now and then and obviously it gets much more difficult every major you pass without winning. He needs to win 13% of all major for the next 7 years to break the record. My gut tells me right now he is about a 30% chance to do it. I think if he can win one more this year I would give him 50/50 shot.
