Electric Fillet Knife Recommendations

My dad's birthday is next week, and my siblings and I want to pitch in to buy him a really nice electric fillet knife. He cleans mostly speckled trout and bass (he likes to use his regular bubba blade for redfish), so the only real requirements would be that is has flexible, quality set of blades and is powerful and reliable. He is fed up with his Mister Twister. Has anybody had any luck with other types? The bubba blade one seems like it will be nice, but I'm hesitant to buy anything that hasn't been battle tested yet.

Third!! Get the corded one. A buddy had tried the new Bubba Blade one and returned it.

FO but buy the MT blades cause the AA blades suck.

Finally pulled the trigger a couple months ago. Cuts like buhtah and can definitely feel the difference in weight and quality between that and my old Mr Twister

Definitely American Angler. I use mine solely for spec trout, flounder and redfish.

I get the cheapest one I can find and chunk it when it quits working well.
Repeat.
Repeat.

If he does a lot of red and snapper fish
I also have the smaller blades and still use hand knife on trout

I’ve been having the Rapala electric for a few years now. Works great. The blade is really good and you can get a few different sizes. Just throwing this one in the mix as well.

Bought the rapala like the above after my moms kitchen aid finally bit the dust. Its ok but the rpms are slow. Which is a good thing some times.

Best electric knife I ever bought and still use 5 years later believe it or not is a black and decker electric carving knife at Walmart. Give it a try and I promise you won’t regret it. It’s only about 10 bucks so if you are dissatisfied throw it in the trash. I saw them on sale for Black Friday one time for 4 bucks and got 5 of them. I’m still using the first one and have cleaned hundreds of bass and speckled trout with it.

I still use a blade. With reds do you cut through the ribs or avoid them?

Mine burn up after about 15 white perch. May have been a lemon, not sure but AA is legit
