Calipari wanted the President role and the HC role. Wouldn't have just been HC. And we have seen over and over how bad things have gone whenever a franchise gives one guy those two roles. Wouldn't have worked.

Regardless of what happens, I respect AD for not quitting on this team like most of the superstars do these days.
He’s here, and he’s balling out every night. He could easily be a bitch and pack it in and say he wants out (Kawhi). He’s all NOLA, but I wouldn’t blame him for leaving this franchise.

They're already starting to say Kawhi is quitting on Toronto and all his teammates know hes going to the Clippers in FA... Glad AD isnt pulling that kind of shite

I can't see many people talking negative about AD even if he leaves. He's been first class since the day he became a pelican and that hasn't changed. Guy could easily slam the franchise but never has.

Saying AD is not an Alpha all the time is not dogging him, its facts that everyone but you and a couple other people can see...
If I would have said before that hes not a top 5 player or something like that, then I cam see your argument about me dogging him, but I've always said
Non-alpha AD = Top 5 player
When he gets that mean streak (as in Alpha AD) = Best player in the NBA
If you take that as dogging someone, you must have some real self confidence issues

I agree. People need to be able to separate the two. I myself have said he is not an alpha and in the same sentence compared him to KD.
No player is perfect. You can say AD is not an alpha and still say he is an amazing player. You can still wish he had CP3's intensity. I am sure Bucks fans respect the heck out of Giannis's game but still wish he had an elite jumper and wonder if they can ever win it all if he doesn't develop that.

The frustrating part is you can see it come out of him for a couple game stretch, so you know it's in there.. If he could ever find a way to keep that mentality for more than a couple games at a time, then he would be the type of player that can carry an entire team to a championship

But every time we lose, or hell, every time we go down by 5 points in the 1st quarter, there's a few dudes here who freak out and say AD quit on us and isn't trying, has no heart, doesn't have that dog in him, blah blah blah.
Unfortunately there's a lot of those types who don't really watch, just follow boxscores, and any time we lose, even if AD drops 40 and 20, AD didn't try and quit on us cause he knows he's leaving.

I have started at times to call him soft and what not when he leaves to go to the lockeroom again but then I sit back and say what other stars have to carry their teams night in and night out on both ends. Harden... yes but he pretty much takes off on the defensive end. The freak... yes but he has Middleton and other players to absorb the scoring drops. I think this team is close actually very close to being good. I think we need a number two guy that can take over 4th qaurters and let Jrue and Niko drop one spot down and be the 3rd and 4th best players and everything will fall into place. Also I see alot of backlash to Dell Demps on here. I cant imagine its easy being a Nba GM in New Orleans and I think the last 3 years hes been very good. The Cousins move was the right move when he made it and he got off the ship at the right time when it crashed. Huge month coming up for this franchise before the trade deadline.

I said AD was not an alpha and compared him to Durant and George and I got killed. I think he’s the best beta in the league. He doesn’t have the ability to Will a team to win on a consistent basis like Lebron, Westbrook, Greek Freak, and Leonard.
