Honest question? I would really hate to see him facing LSU next year in burnt orange. I say if he still wants in then take him, but do we have room? Looking for everyone’s thoughts?

He's still in play, but far less likely to end up in Baton Rouge.

But if that's the trade off for getting Emery, you take that trade so fast.

Not sure we’d turn him away but we have more pressing needs.

Not so much. Planning to sign Emery and Davis in December. If there's still a spot available come February, you could possibly see a 3rd sneak in, but there's other areas of needs.

In the 1982 recruiting class LSU took 3 very good backs. The least rated that season turned out to be the best, Dalton Hilliard. The 2 higher rated were Garry James and Karl Bernard. Stovall had plenty of tailbacks and tried adding weight to Bernard and move him to FB. It didn't work out and he transferred to USL. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility to see them take 3, it just depends on if 3rd wants to join the class. I mean, you really never know which backs will be the best at the next level. Plus, I don't see Curry or Edwards-Helaire beating out any of these backs for the start next season. Not saying they aren't any good, but these '19 are very talented. LSU really needs another Olineman the caliber of Kardell and a couple Dlinemen.

I would be willing to beat that O promised Emery if he committed, he would not sign Cain or Sanders. He would have the first shot at being our feature back.

Should have committed instead of fricking around.

Can you imagine having Sanders as well, giving us the #1, #2, and #6 back this cycle??

Possible. But I don't see LSU turning Sanders or Cain away if they want to go to LSU. That was one of the angles LSU used to sway Robert Lane a few years ago. When they signed Jamarcus and Matt Flynn, Lane hauls butt to Ole Miss. Ironically he didn't end his career at Ole Miss behind center. If memory serves me correctly he moved to TE. That's one reason I'm always a little leery of players who want that guarantee the team will not sign another player at their position. That being said, it's better to have one like Emery than to have none. Just hope Orgeron and staff finish this recruiting cycle off really strong by getting some very good players at position of need.

Didn't Curley Hallman sign 3 of the top 5 running backs one year? Was not a good strategy.

Exactly.

We're still feeling the burn of holding out for Akers and slowplaying Etienne. This recruiting cycle more than addresses that issue for us.

I hope he stays out of the SEC. However, I also would not like to play him next year like you said.

It doesn't seem like he is really into LSU.
