Back when npr didn't suck so bad there was a guy who was reading Gods and Angels every afternoon in my drive home.

Wish I could remember his name because he was amazing.

This.

If I don't have one of interest already, I just choose one narrated by TGR.

Also, the guy who does Sanderson's novels and the one who does The Dresden Files are really good.

There's nothing worse than having an interesting story and a terrible narrator. Derek Perkins is one, stay far away.

James Marsters. Good Call. Great voice for the detective-noire style of Dresden.

I enjoy Paul Michael's productions of the Dan Brown Langdon books

Jeremy Irons did the Alchemist and was magnificent.

For British lit, Martin Freeman does excellent with the hitchhikers series

He also did an uncomfortably spot on Humbert Humbert with Lolita.

Yes, Simon Vance is great

+1, I listened to a lot of Charles Dickens read by him, and also his reading of Kim by Kipling is great.

Another good Brit narrator is Ralph Cosham.

I hear the actor from Remember the Titans, Will Patton, is outstanding as an audiobook narrator.

Stephen Fry did an incredible job with the Harry Potter series. He's the best I've heard so far of about 200 audiobooks I've listened to.

Unsure of his name, but whoever reads Connelly’s Bosch books is outstanding.

Lee Horsley, the guy who did Lonesome Dove, was awesome, except he talked too loud for Woodrow Call. It was the perfect voice. Just too damned loud.

I literally just listened to this and finished a couple days ago and thought the exact same thing. I turned the volume down a lot. It was pretty annoying.

Steven Pacey does the voices for Joe Abercromies books. He does an amazing job with the voices for each charter. Think he may have done Gates of Fire as well if not that guy was good too.

Stephen Fry did a great job with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy too.

And I listened to a audiobook of Beowulf by Seamus Haney which was very well done.
