I had an order to pick up at Bittersweet Confections anyway, so I picked up a mini king cake (bonus points for having a mini size). I liked it, but thought it could use a little more cinnamon. It was moist and had a good ratio of icing and colored sugar for my tastes, and I could tell the ingredients were good quality.

Haydels is my fav in nola area. And yes you can walk in. They are also available on waitr or maybe its uber eats. I prefer the cream cheese one. In shreveport, Tubbs king cakes, extreme cream are the mf best

I had one for lunch today that was incredibly good. It was the King Cake Cheesecake at Copelands. It shot right up to the top of my list. It was a delicious piece of cheesecake with a layer of King Cake on the top and on the bottom and was covered with whipped cream. I need to go back and get another one before Mardi Gras.

I had a piece of Dong Phuong king cake last week. It was very good but I would not drive all the way to Siberia to get it. But to answer your question, if you do go there chances are you will escape with your life as well as a delicious king cake.

Yesterday, I had piece of Manny Randazzo traditional. I then went and bought a Nonna Randazzo traditional and had a piece of it. They tasted identical. Both were among the best I've ever had.

Anyone know the best King Cake in Mississippi to get? I mean anywhere in the state, Gulf Coast, Southern, etc.I just know Northern Mississippi will not cut it so I will be down soon.

They use the same recipe. Nona uses the original sprinkles that they’ve always used and Manny puts Mardi Gras colored sprinkles on his. That’s it.

We got one at work from Coffe & in Marrero and it was one of the best I’ve had. Very Randazzo like but a little less wet.

Guess I should have posted here....

I ordered a King Cake and the site had me pick my deliver date. Once I picked the date the price they quoted me on shipping never changed. Will it arrive on the date I chose or not?

I have no read this entire thread.. just coming to post.

How tough is it to make a homemade king cake? Wanted to ship one here to Oregon, but wondering if I should just make one instead.

Thoughts? Recipes?

Not that hard, but it take a couple tries to perfect your system.

Has anyone mentioned NOLA Brand out of Kenner? I saw they were in stock at a local walmart in Hoover so I grabbed one. It was decent. Not the best I've had, as that would be Haydel's or Randazzo's, but pretty good.
