he went cheap on the head coach so we could be coordinator dependent. now he's about to get in a bidding war with oil money he won't win. the house of cards is about to fall.
Well if he wont win the bidding war with oil money then sounds like he couldn't have prevented this regardless of what he's paying the head coach. Explain how this could have been prevented.

hire a proven head coach so when you lose a coordinator the blow isn't as bad. problem with being so coordinator dependent is you have to hire an elite guy every time, which is virtually impossible.

Ah, ok. I see your point there.

It was hard, and it took a little sting out of my argument, but I was able to put it in there

I get that people think that the program is trending down

That's the problem... most see that the program is about to be in big trouble if the current trends are allowed to continue.

It's not all or nothing, it's-totally-destroyed-right-this-momment freakout... the program has been gradually getting worse for five years, and doesnt look like it's going to get better. You're smart enough to know this.

I dont think it's about money...more about competency, or a lack thereof by the HC.

Everyone remember the Coordinators and Orgeron being hauled into Alleva's office and being told to play nice.

If both Coordinators leave, 4 wins max next season.

Obviously that's the only reason that Aranda stays. If he thinks that LSU will get better defensive talent than aTm he might stay. I don't think Aranda will go to aTm at risk of derailing his HC aspirations. I think he knows what he has at LSU and already knows what type of defense he will have next year.....if he thinks that will be enough to get him some HC offers in spite of whatever BS Ogre comes up with on offense....then he might stay.

I mean Aranda is already the highest paid coordinator in the country.

This whole thing is based off of getting the top coordinators in the game. However the flaw is when people come calling for them and offer more money. If you have executed step one correctly, that should happen every year. You are just screwed when it does.

Looks like we are 50% with our execution. People want one of them.

TFU dummy. Alleva's had the highest paid staff in the country for many years. One thing he hasn't skimped on is paying coaches.

False, Programs like Bama and tOSU dwarf and has dwarfed LSU.

There is a diff in having the highest paid defensive coordinator and the highest paid staff.

I dont think it is a coincidence Les has stated he wanted to go somewhere committed to winning championships. I always felt that was a shot at Joe.

Loaded with talent for next 3 years at LSU.
Don’t know about A&M.
Bama, Auburn, and even LSU can beat him.
But that’s a lot of money and guaranteed!!!
