Things that people didn't see because the score got out of hand

*LSU ran the ball at will on first down pretty much. In the entire first half, every run was 6 to 8 yards on first down.
*LSU shut down Auburn's running game on first and second down. Anything they tried up the middle was pretty well shut down.
*On the deep balls to Coates, LSU DBs were in great position, a little luck and Coates great talent got in the way.
Auburn is clearly the better team, but if LSU could have produced on 2nd down and prevented Auburn from producing on 3rd down, the game wouldn't have been a total blowout.

Since we are playing what ifs...what if we had a coach who knew how to utilize talent and get the most out of his players?

Yeah, I kind of agree. Also, there were a couple of completed passes that were well covered by our DBs - they just whiffed trying to knock it away - or the WR made a great play. It could have been a 35-21 type of loss had we gotten a couple of breaks.
But I felt the same way following the MSU game
Maybe I'm in denial

Play calling was atrocious again this week
We have no identity on offense. We want to be a running team? Then gear the offense for that. With Harris in there we should be a shotgun, spread formation team, period. fricking blows my mind

And we'd still go three and out. Pretty incredible really

Seems like the announcers barely noticed our 4th down conversion

The fact that we were getting 6-8 yards on 1st down consistently by running up the middle and we STILL started the game with multiple 3 and outs and our team was 0-13 on 3rd down just illuminates how completely INEPT the coaching staff is when it comes to figuring out how to maximized the talent we have.
Say the same thing for the Defense. We consistently got Auburn in 3rd and long situations and STILL could not get the off of the field.
It is ALL COACHING at this point. ALL. OF. IT. If you can't see that, then you don't understand the game. These guys USED to be good coaches, but they are all in their 50's-60's and the game has passed them by.
I hate to say it, but it is true.

If "if" was a "fifth" we could have numbed the pain of the last too arse rappings we just took!!!

I saw quite a few third down conversions where we had guys in position to make a play. Either the Aubbie player stepped up or our players whiffed. I am not saying coaching is great, but coaches don't usually make tackles.

Totally agree. I believe that coaches stagnate in their ability to improvise and adjust to change. You've got to be open minded in the game today and willing to take chances - especially when you're getting your butt kicked.

Really is...
We were 2nd short first 3 possessions and punted all 3 times.

0-12 on 3rd down.
If lsu had converted all of them, they may have won.
