That’s a really weird thing to say. I fully support providing assistance to Ukraine so they can defend their homeland against Russian invaders. All red-blooded freedom-loving Americans should support it. This is the way.

While I support the US helping Ukraine, I can accept it that some believe we shouldn’t get involved, or that we shouldn’t spend so much money.
Throughout history the US has seen good people debate our position in the world as to whether we should isolate ourselves or we should be active in providing for our security interests.
I think you could be a patriot either way. It’s not a one way street.

We’re helping Ukraine set the Red Army back for a while.

I don't think anyone with the slightest capacity for critical thought seriously argues that Russia is a good guy. But beyond that veneer of a thought, it gets muddy quickly, and much of the current blind support for Ukraine (as mockingly evidenced in Decatur's asinine reply) is propaganda driven. You don't have to dig far to see the the military industrial complex, neocons and other leftist globo interests taking advantage of the situation... almost as if they planned it. And that is legitimate cause to challenge the narrative and demand accountability.
To that end, I recommend watching the linked, 20-ish minute interview of Jeffrey Sachs on Democracy Now from a couple of months ago. To be clear, I don't like Sachs and I disagree with his statements around the 10-11 minute mark that we shouldn't view China as an enemy. That aside, he was highly involved with the UN and advising the White House on geopolitical matters going back to at least Bush Sr's presidency. And his thoughts on what he observed make him a relevant witness to why things have played out as they have. Anyone-- left or right-- who questions our involvement there will appreciate his insights in this matter. I'm surprised Democracy Now actually aired this. Then again, Sachs reserves his criticism for neocons vs Democrats and current leadership-- using the word loosely-- isn't criticized.

I agree, blind support needs to be balanced by devil’s advocates, things need to bd discussed rational, and opinions formed. That process should be ongoing and not static and there should be accountability.

There’s always a danger of special interests gaming the system for their benefit and not for our national security. Challenging the narrative and the policy is our right and it should be exercised whenever we so choose; however, be wary. Like the boy that cried wolf when there was no wolf to be found, those that see a wolf behind every event become irrelevant too.

I don’t read enough or watch enough either. I will try and watch it after work, thanks.
